The Mora and Ogilvie Girl Scouts honored the founder of the organization, Juliette Gordon Low, by providing gifts to a baby born at Kanabec Hospital. Low was born on October 31, 1860, so the Girl Scouts award the gifts to the first female baby born on or after October 31 of each year.
This year’s recipient of the gifts is Julyssa Kelley, daughter of Bridget Duncan and Robert Kelley of Mora. Julyssa was born on November 4th and weighed 5 lbs, 6 oz.
The gifts included clothes, toys, blankets and more. Each item was donated by a Girl Scout member.
