Mora's annual Moonlight Madness celebration drew guests from throughout Kanabec County Friday night.

Santa was Friday night's guest of honor and was chauffered into town by the Mora Area Fire Department, Kanabec County Ambassadors and a contingent of holiday carolers.

Many businesses in and around the downtown area stayed open late and offered special sales for Friday's holiday season kickoff.

A cash drawing, made possible by People's National Bank and Kanabec State Bank, also took place Friday. Winners of the $50 prizes were Waneta Hansen and Ma Humphery; winners of the $25 prizes were Frank Kriz, Tom Born, Clara Bicking and Carrie Stromberg.

Santa will next be in his workshop - above Wild Things Pizzeria and Deli - on Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again on Dec. 19 during the same times.

Those visiting with Santa are asked to bring an item for the local food shelf.
