Rising gas prices are a serious issue for Minnesotans. As such, it's a topic that deserves serious attention, not shallow political rhetoric.

Gas prices have nearly doubled over the last year. The Republican Candidate for House 8B would have you believe this is all Rep. Tim Faust's fault. In fact, of the $1.60 increase in gas prices since last year, only two cents have increased as a result of the transportation finance bill. Another 5 cents will be phased in over several years.

What's most disappointing is that rising gas prices is a real problem for people, and the Republican candidate for House 8B would rather mislead us for her own political gain rather than talk seriously about the issue.

We deserve a Representative who will speak intelligently about the issues and talk seriously about solving problems. Unfortunately, the Republican candidate for House 8B is interested in neither.
