Homeless

Mora residents Jeff Olson and his friend Ravonne Viznior served Christmas meals to the homeless.

Mora residents Jeff Olson and his friend Ravonne Viznior returned to Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities in St. Paul to serve the Christmas meal to individuals who are homeless. At the Mission, Olson said he feels the importance of giving to others.

Ten years prior, Olson came to the Mission as an active alcoholic who was homeless. He remembers what it was like to “come in from the outdoors and only have the clothes on my back.” Olson joined Alcoholics Anonymous and is grateful to be able to give back to help others.

On Christmas Day, 1,100 “Holiday Chicken” meals were delivered by some 90 Union Gospel Mission volunteers to 18 high rise, low income apartments in St. Paul. At the Men’s Campus, 210 meals were served by 50 volunteers to individuals in need.
