Welcome to the swamp.
Shrek The Musical Jr. is being presented this week by over 60 student actors and crew as part of Mora Community Education.
Shrek The Musical Jr. is a story of a little ogre named Shrek who must make his own place in this big, bright, beautiful world. However, his swamp is invaded by the captain of the guards and fairytale creatures that have been banished from the nearby Kingdom of Duloc. Shrek heads off to Duloc, gaining a friend in a donkey, to find out how to get his swamp back.
Unbeknownst to Shrek, Lord Farquaad of Duloc wants to become the king of Duloc. But he needs a queen to do so and is looking for just the scapegoat to get past the dragon of the tower and bring the feisty princess Fiona to him. The story unfolds as the characters figure out what friendship means, what true love is, that ogres are wonderful, and that individuality should be celebrated.
The company, led by directors Kelly Gams and Sara Rossow, are excited to bring this wonderful story celebrating differences to the Mora community. Musical direction is by Elaine Kehr, choreography by Julia Gams and set design by Brian Kennedy.
