Mora Municipal Airport (KJMR) will be hosting its annual Fly-In event on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020 beginning at 8 a.m. and running until 12 p.m. Admission is free.

The event will open with the Presentation of Colors by the American Legion Club of Mora at 8 a.m. The Mora Lions Club will be serving an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast for $6 per person, with all proceeds going to the Lions Club to support community based projects and donations. Hawk Aviation will be offering airplane rides for $30 a person and all pilots will receive a 5¢ discount on aviation fuel on the day of the event.

This year’s Fly-In will again include a static tractor display; tractor owners are encouraged to bring their equipment to the event.

This is an event for the entire family, with the first 100 kids in attendance receiving a free gift.

New this year is a paper airplane contest. The contest is open to all ages; however, the prize of a free airplane ride provided by a local pilot will be awarded to the youth (age 17 or under) with the winning paper airplane.

Also new this year is registration for youth wishing to participate in a free Young Eagles flight on Oct. 3, 2020. Youth must be registered by a parent or legal guardian at the Mora Fly-In on Sept. 19, 2020. The mission of the Young Eagles program is to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation. The program offers free introductory flights to youth ages 8-17.

Underwing camping will be available the night of Friday, Sept. 18, 2020 with entertainment organized by local pilots.

Mora Municipal Airport is located at 2085 Mahogany Street, Mora, MN 55051. The Mora Fly-In is sponsored by the city of Mora and its airport board.
