Ardell William (Bill) Diessner died peacefully at his home in Mora on Saturday, March 27, 2021. He was 97 years old.

He made the world a better place as a doctor of medicine, state senator, husband, father, grandfather and friend. A true humanitarian, he was always willing to help others and put their needs before his own.

As a captain in the Army, he served his country in Korea as a doctor in the first MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) unit.

He donated his body to the University of Minnesota Medical School to pay forward training he received as a young medical student there.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Harman Diessner.

A military graveside memorial service will be held in Mora upon the return of his remains from the University.  The family will provide future notification of the memorial date. He will be deeply missed.
