Hendrickson

Betty Hendrickson died Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Northern Pines Assisted Living in Pine City. She was 83 years old.

Arlene Betty James was born Feb. 24, 1936 to William and Mabel (Samuelson) James in Hayland Township in Mille Lacs County. 

After graduating from Milaca High School, she worked in the secretarial field in Minneapolis. On Nov. 12, 1955 she was united in marriage to Alfred A. Hendrickson. For many years while raising their family of a daughter and two sons they lived in the Mora area. She worked as a part-time store clerk and as a full-time nurse’s aide. She was employed with both the Elim Nursing Home in Milaca and at the Villa Nursing Home in Mora. Later she was employed with Kanabec County as a home health aide. She had a nurturing way about her, and it came through in the many care giving positions she held throughout her working years. She was an extremely kind and gracious person to all her family and friends. In 2011, she and her husband moved to Pine City to be closer to their daughter.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel James; husband, Al Hendrickson; son, Gary Hendrickson and six siblings.

She is survived by daughter, Jean Matson of Pine City; son, Robert Hendrickson of Onamia; grandchildren, Jeremy (Samantha) Matson, Emily (Tyler) Jones and Wyatt Hendrickson; great-grandchildren, Aiden Matson, Hunter Jensrud, Jayden Jones and baby boy Jones to be; brother, James (Irene) James of Sauk Rapids; many other relatives and friends. 

A graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca.
