Nordstrom

Denise Jean Nordstrom beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at her home in Mora. She was 56 years old.

She was born on June 22, 1963, in Mora to Eugene and Gloria (Welch) Dandurand. Her family later moved to Eugene, Oregon where she grew up. She moved back to Mora, and in 1981, was united in marriage to Paul Nordstrom. She became the loving mother of Christopher, Jennifer and Nathaniel. She was a woman of great faith and loved it. 

She had a passion for food and always dreamed of owning her own restaurant. In 2000, that dream became a reality when she became the owner of the Downtown Deli. She loved working in and owning the Downtown Deli. She loved her community and they loved her. She LOVED food, coffee, dancing and her flowers. She loved her husband of 38 years, her three children and adored her grandchildren. She loved her life and everything about it; she was such a joyful, passionate women. We will mourn her passing but celebrate her life. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Dandurand. 

She is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Christopher Nordstrom, Jennifer(Sean) Stevens and Nathaniel (Tiffany) Nordstrom; grandchildren,  Ben, Brock, Nevaeh, Sofia, Harper and Spencer; mother Gloria (Dandurand) Kreft; brothers, Tony (Louise) Dandurand, Kim Dandurand, Rick (Ann) Dandurand, Bret Dandurand; sisters, Kathy(Lee) Hallauer, Jody (Robert) Spade, Brenda Dandurand, Kelly Gamble; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Mora.  Pastor Michael Rue and Joe Nordstrom officiated.  Arrangements were by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora. Condolences may be posted at www.aifuneralhome.com.
