Delores

Dolores Elaine (Krogh) Mathison, of Mora, died peacefully at FirstLight Health Care System in Mora on Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019. She was 89 years old.

She was born on July 10, 1930 at home in Hillman Township in Mora to Soren and Mary (Zugsworth) Krogh. She was confirmed into the Christian faith at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora. She grew up with her nine siblings on their family farm in Hillman Township and attended Wilkins School through eighth grade. She graduated from Mora High School in 1948. After graduation, she moved to St. Cloud with her younger sister. 

On April 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Kenneth E. Mathison. From this union they were blessed with two children, Pamela Jean and Lynn Bryan. After they were married, they moved to Fort Campbell, Kentucky and lived there while her husband served in the Army. After he completed his service in the Army, they moved to Hudson, Wisconsin. In 1956, she returned to Mora where she lived for the duration of her life. She took pride in being a housewife and mother, as well as working at Fingerhut in Mora and at Yes Bay Lodge in Alaska. 

She loved to travel, have fun adventures, joke around and spend time with her family. She enjoyed flower gardens and growing beautiful violets. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; son, Lynn; brothers, Soren, Ellsworth and Gustav Krogh; sisters, Gudrun Josephson, Alberta Bernett, Marie Habeck, Hilda Kacon and Evangeline Morell.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Rick) Mattson; grandchildren, Kari Mattson, Kris (Alice) Mattson, Kenneth (Jeanne) Mattson and Kinsey (Brent) Folkema; great-grandchildren, Emma Rae and Brock Eric Folkema, Skylar Rae, Jamison Stanley, Eldin Luke, Soryn Ellis and Iley Greta Mattson; sisters-in-law, Ellen Regan and Lois Mathison; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.  

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Dean Oelfke officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.  Arrangements are being handled by Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral.
