Kathleen Kaye Johnstone, of Mora, died Monday, June 3, 2019. She was 49 years old.
She was born on Dec. 20, 1969 to Dennis and Mary Joy. She grew up and attended school in the Mora area. She even met her future husband, Robert Johnstone there. The couple were united in holy matrimony on Aug. 7, 1993 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora. She graciously stepped into the role of farm wife, and not long after, farm mom. In 1995 they welcomed Matthew, then Kaitlyn in 1997. One of the ever-present things in her life was her job as a dental receptionist, first in Mora and then in her beloved town of Braham.
She was a lover of many things, but her family and the farm always took precedence. One of her greatest abilities was working with animals, specifically babies. She spent many a night up doing feedings when a momma couldn’t take care of her own baby, whether it be calves, a squirrel or even a raccoon. On her off days from the dentist office she could either be found at the Tusen Tack in Braham, or in the truck with her husband heading to an auction sale. This is where she grew her collection of antiques and enamelware, which grew to spill over into her gardens.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary.
She is survived by her husband Robert and children, Matthew and Kaitlyn (Joshua Miron), her father Dennis Joy of Mora, her sister Patti (Jim) Pallow, brother Mike (Marnie) Joy of Braham, many loved nieces, nephews and friends.
