Lynnae Cecelia Christianson, of Mora, died on Friday, Oct. 4, 2019, at St. Clare Living Community in Mora. She was 72 years old.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1947, in Minneapolis, to Beauford and Ruby (Wall) Bredberg. She and her family lived in New London for a few years and then moved to Villard, Minnesota. They lived there for one and a half years before moving to Henning in 1961.
She graduated from high school in Henning then went on to college at Moorhead State University in Moorhead where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English. In 1969 she accepted a job teaching English in Mora. Shortly after moving to Mora she met Ordean Christianson. They were united in marriage on July 17, 1971, in Henning.
After a few years of teaching in Mora she was urged by school administration to pursue her master’s degree in counseling. She then went to St. Cloud State University and earned her master’s degree. For the next 30 years she worked as a high school counselor at Mora High School until her retirement in 2004.
She had many hobbies and interests and was very talented musically. She sang, played the piano, French horn, trumpet and drums. She was a past president of Mora Dollars for Scholars, on the board of directors of Brighter Day Activity Center, had many memberships and was an officer of numerous other organizations. Her hobbies included crafts, needlework (especially hardanger), music and playing the piano. She was active at Grace Lutheran Church where she sang in the church choir for many years, worked with the church library and assisted counting offertory money. However, her main hobby was shopping - which she was very good at. She always remembered birthdays as well as important dates of friends and relatives and was an extremely generous person.
She is survived by her husband, Ordean; son, Ryan and his wife Kelly of Mora; stepgrandchildren, Brendan, Liam and Ryland; sisters, Sheila Hagen of Henning and Michele Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada; brother, Clark and his wife Edna of Roanoke, Virginia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
