Margaret ‘Peg’ Huntington died on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at her home in Hinckley. She was 89 years old.

She lived in many towns during her life, including; Hillman, Little Falls, Fosston, Roseau, Thief River Falls, St. Hilaire, Brownton, Anoka, Frazee, Maple Grove, Zimmerman, Hinckley and also Harlingen, Texas.

She was united in marriage to DeWayne Huntington on June 25, 1995 at Lake View Community Church, Hillman.

She worked in many fields including clerical, bookkeeping and as a homemaker.

She loved gardening, raising vegetables and flowers and was well known for her beautiful flowerbeds. She liked sewing, knitting and embroidery, and sewed many pretty dresses and outfits for her two daughters. She enjoyed reading while sitting in her sun room and loved watching the many birds at her bird feeders. She avidly scoured flea markets and antique shops looking for that perfect thing for her home. She always had a smile and a warm welcome for the expected or unexpected visitor, and kept the coffee and tea handy and the cookie jar filled with delicious homemade cookies. She also loved jigsaw puzzles, crossword puzzles and playing games with her family. All of the best holiday dinners and fun were at Grandma’s house.

She was preceded in death by: parents; Ole and Merry Alice Christianson, siblings; Everett, Grace, Lewis, Milton, Gerald and Merry Jeanne, husbands; Gordon Vennes and Otis Miller, son; Ronald (Cindy) Vennes, daughter; Merry Vennes Moncus and step-grandson; Brandon (Kayla) Huntington.

She is survived by her husband of 24 years; DeWayne Huntington, Hinckley, children; Gary (Cindy) Vennes, Hunt, Texas, daughter-in-law; Cindy (Ronald) Vennes, Thief River Falls, Deborah (Kelley) Flanders, Richfield, Russell Vennes, Stacy, and stepson; Wayne Huntington, Hinckley, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at the Lakeview Community Church in Hillman with Pastor Paul Osborne, Jr. officiating.  There will be a visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Tatting Methven Funeral Chapel in Hinckley.
