Margery Jane Koll, of Ogilvie, died on Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale. She was 88 years old.
She was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Sandstone. The first 10 years of her life was lived there with her grandparents as her mother worked out during the depression years. In 1941, she moved with her parents, Avarita and Fay Troupe, to a farm south of Ogilvie until after her graduation in 1949.
On June 5, 1949, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Nelson of Milaca where they resided, worked and raised their four children. Lawrence suddenly and unexpectedly died May 30, 1976, when their youngest child, Denise, was only 7 years old. Throughout her life, she held jobs that were in the service of other people.
A few years after the death of her first husband, she met Donald Koll of Ogilvie, whom she married on April 14, 2016. Over the years, the couple enjoyed participating in the T Tottalers Club taking tours with the group in their Model-T. More recently, they enjoyed touring the local area countryside viewing nature and wildlife. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. In addition, she had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed reading and liked to give hand-made knit and crochet gifts to family and friends.
She was suddenly and unexpectedly taken from us leaving behind many family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Nelson; mother, Avarita Troupe; brother, Dale Troupe; and sons-in-law, Bob VanAlst and Fred Parker.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Koll; children, Lillian VanAlst, Linda Parker, Bonnie Hanson, David Nelson and Denise (Jason) Molgaard; sister, Nancy (Dave) Lange; sister-in-law, Lois Troupe; brother, Lyle (Betty) Troupe; eight nieces and nephews; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Her family commits Margery into the hands of our loving Heavenly Father but she will live in our hearts forever.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019, at Dresser-Methven Funeral Home, Mora.
