Lorence

Mary “Mimi” (“Chips” Elliott) Lorence died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 at Trails of Orono. She was 88 years old.

She was born March 2, 1932 and was raised in Dassel. She attended and received her teaching degree at St. Cloud Teachers College where she met Robert “Bob” Lorence. She also played organ and piano at Calvary Lutheran Church, where she both launched and directed the first bell choir. She and her husband returned to Excelsior upon retirement in 2000 to be closer to children and grandchildren.

She had a strong faith and love of music and impacted many lives by sharing those interests.
