Patricia Louise Lovaas died and was called home on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2020 at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora. She was 84 years old.

She was born in Mora on Dec. 6, 1935 to Roy and Rozinia (Johnson) Haugen. She grew up on the family farm and was especially close to her cousins, Dennis Clayton, Dewy Mattson, Sandra (Mattson) Herr, Rickey Mattson, Nancy (Johnson) Soucy, and Renee, Carol and Janie Lind. They all spent a lot of time together and made many special memories that will never be forgotten.

She attended and graduated from Mora High School in 1953.

She was united in marriage to Vernon W. Lovaas on Oct. 27, 1956 at Hillman Baptist Church and blessed with two children, Keith and Diane. Later the family moved to St. Paul where she worked at a local drug store. In 1976, the family moved back to Mora to be closer to their family and church.

She was an avid reader and loved playing Scrabble with her mom every Sunday afternoon. She was a faithful woman of God and loved her family and grandchildren. Her baking and famous coffee cake and banana bread were family favorites that were enjoyed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Rozinia Haugen.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon; children, Keith (Karen) Lovaas of Brooklyn Center and Diane (Robert) Odencrans of Mora; grandchildren, Adam (Nicole) Lovaas of Roseville, Kristina (Angel) Sosa of Brooklyn Center, Andrew (Robyn) Odencrans of Mora and Michael (Mandy) Odencrans of Ogilvie; great-grandchildren, Oscar Lovaas, Astrid Lovaas, Scarlet Sosa, Spencer Odencrans, Aydan Odencrans, Anabele Odencrans, Cooper Odencrans, Revyn Odencrans and Barrett Odencrans.

A private family graveside service and burial was held at the Oakwood Cemetery in Mora. A public celebration of her life will be held at a future date. Arrangements are by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.  Condolences may be posted at www.aifuneralhome.com

Diane, Keith and family. I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I have groovy memories going to your house when we were younger. Prayers for you all and the lives she touched. We do have the promise by our Father that all who believe will meet again.
