Robert “Bob” G. Johnson, of Mora, died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at his home. He was 76 years old. 

He was born on March 26, 1944 in St. Paul.  He was a true Scandinavian gentleman and was known by many as the tall guy with the silver-blue 1958 Impala. He graduated from Murray High School in St. Paul and the College of Associated Arts on Summit Ave. He also earned the C.S.M. (Certified Shopping Center Manager) accreditation.

He loved the family cabin on Knife River where he and his wife spent the last 22 years since retiring. He had so many interests; skiing, hunting, fishing, winter spearing, he was a pilot and was meticulous with woodworking and photography. With roots in Braham, he loved his Farmall tractor and anything related to the outdoors. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia Thorsten and Arnold Johnson and his only brother, Jerry.

He is survived by his wife, Pat; sisters-in-law, Lynn and Colleen; and special nephews and nieces, Rob, Chris, Marc (Janice), Tyler, Blake, Paul (Claudia), Eric, Jane, Joy (Tim), Grace, Anne ~ (the Johnson’s, Danner’s and Lehman’s).

He had so many wonderful friends, some since grade school. Please know that Bob thought of you as family, God bless the memories. He was a lifelong member of Como Park Lutheran Church. His life was about his faith, his friends and his family all surrounded by the beauty of nature. 

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021 at the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home in Mora. If you want to remember Bob with a memorial donation, please choose your favorite wildlife or veterans organization. Condolences may be posted online at
