Rochelle Dawn DeBoer, of Ogilvie, died on Sunday, March 22, 2020, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home after a 5-year battle with cancer. She was 59 years old.

She was born on Oct. 28, 1960, in Milaca to parents Raymond and Doris (Miller) Rippentrop. She grew up in Milaca, Brunswick and Mora before settling in Ogilvie where she graduated from Ogilvie High School in 1979. She worked at Brighter Day while still in high school. After graduating, she accepted a position at the Mille Lacs County Area DAC where she worked for 41 years. She loved her job teaching work skills and helping people achieve their goals. Eventually she became the production manager where she developed vocational and training opportunities for the people she served. She also coached Special Olympics events for many years.

On June 22, 1985, she was united in marriage to Paul Arlan DeBoer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ogilvie. They made their home in the Ogilvie area and built on Paul’s family’s farm. She found joy in cooking and baking for people. She loved to make meals from fresh garden veggies and meats produced on the farm. Sunday dinners were her favorite time to spend with her family. She enjoyed watching cooking shows for inspiration, making crafts and keeping her home and gardens tidy. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandsons. Her true compassion, grace and fighting spirit will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Raymond, and sister, Reta Rippentrop.

She is survived by her husband, Paul; children, Cody (Sarah) of Otsego, Cyle (girlfriend Rose) of White Bear Lake, and Caitlind (boyfriend Adam) of Ogilvie; grandchildren, Baylor and Oakland; mother, Doris Rippentrop of Mora; father and mother-in-law Ron and Erlene DeBoer of Mora; sisters, Rhonda (Lanny) Stegeman of Mora, Renae (Tom) Rowland of Ogilvie, Roxann (Wes) Carlson of Brook Park, and Resa (Don) Turner of Mora; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy (Mark) Adkinson of Warr Acres, Oklahoma, Marcia (Bart) Kendall of Princeton, Tim (Darcy) DeBoer of Onamia and Mary (Bruce) Byker of Foreston; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
