Sandra Crow

Sandra Kay Crow, of Mora died unexpectedly on Monday, May 20, 2019 while on vacation. She was 69 years old. 

She was born on Sept. 14, 1949 in Mora to Sedoris and Margaret (Cooper) Nelson; she is the third of five children. As a child, she lived in Federal Dam and Quamba before moving to Brooklyn Center, to attend school. She met her future husband, Michael, in the 10th grade, and they were united in marriage on Sept. 5, 1969 at St. Alphonsus in Brooklyn Park. They lived in Belle Plaine for five years before moving to Mora in April 1977. They made their home in Mora and had two children. 

She was employed at Brighter Day Achievement Center, the Mora Advertiser newspaper, Kanabec County Court Administration and Isanti County Court Administration before retiring in 2012. She was an avid reader, enjoyed quilting, gardening and tending to her plants, traveling, morning coffee with friends and spending time with her family. The family spent many vacations together, often going to the cabin or resorts and even a camping trip out west. She truly enjoyed family gatherings, holidays, trips to Hawaii with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren. She lived her life for God, her husband, sons, grandchildren, family and many friends. 

She is survived by husband, Michael, sons David (Livier) and Steven (Kathleen); grandchildren Jacob, Allison, Lucas, Amanda and Anthony; brother James (Pam) Nelson; sisters Vicki (Gary) Hall, Polly (Robert) Rivoli and Kathy (Bill) Saenger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

She welcomed everyone with her caring personality and had many special friends, both young and old. She truly will be missed. 

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mora. Inurnment was in the Oakwood Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.  Condolences may be posted at www.aifuneralhome.com.
