Stephen “Steve”  M. Hendershot died on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was 78 years old.

He was born in Mora to Archie and Myrtle (Olson) Hendershot. He attended Mora High School. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Harriet Bernice Stromberg on June 17, 1961, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora.

He enjoyed playing guitar and singing in the bands; Thunderbirds, 17 years with the Country Four, Joey the Concertina King, Chmielewski Fun Time Band and as a guest singer at the East Central Minnesota Opry. 

He was a printer at B & W Printers (Advertiser), and a carpenter. He enjoyed going to threshing shows, antique car shows and airplane shows. He loved camping and going on road trips with his wife and family. He was an avid collector of Coca Cola memorabilia. He loved fishing, hunting and plowing snow for family and neighbors. He always worked hard to keep the lawn and yard beautiful.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriet; father, Archie; mother, Myrtle Hendershot; brothers, Ronald (Mildred), Pete (Lorraine), AJ-Archie Jr. (Irene); sister, Mitzi-Gloria (Kenneth) Telander; and father-in-law, Harry Stromberg.

He is survived by his mother-in-law, Bernice Stromberg; brother-in-law, Donovan (Janeva) Stromberg; daughters, Carla (Larry) Simonson and Paula (Mike) Rauchwarter; son, Darin Hendershot; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020, at Fish Lake Resort.
