Tammy Belkholm

Tamra “Tammy” Ann (Krengel) Belkholm died on Wednesday, July 24, 2019, in her home. She was 56 years old.

She was born on May 26, 1963, in Wells to Ronald and Illa Jean (Weydert) Krengel. She was the third of six children. She grew up on the family’s diversified farm, walking soybeans and gathering eggs. She attended Minnesota Lake Schools, and was an excellent athlete playing volleyball, basketball and pitching fast-pitch softball. She enjoyed playing the flute and was homecoming queen her senior year. She graduated in 1981 and afterward attended the University of Minnesota-Waseca, earning a degree in horticulture. There she met Kevin Belkholm. They were united in marriage on Sept. 8, 1984. They were blessed with four children, Erica, Mike, Ross and BreAnna. The couple settled on the Belkholm family dairy farm south of Mora. She worked hard on the farm, raised their four children and worked as a floral designer. She also found time to be involved in the church.

In 2011 she received a degree in business and accounting from Anoka-Ramsey Community College, a topic with which she was already well-familiar, as she had been running the financial and legal side of the farm for decades. She used her degree to work with many local businesses.

In 2012 she was delighted to become a grandma of Coraline Blake. In 2015 the couple traveled to Israel, and it was a life-affirming experience. She was a woman of prayer who loved Jesus with every fiber of her being. She proudly graduated from the Association of Faith Churches and Ministers International Training Center and read religious material voraciously. She was caring and thoughtful, always trying to find a way to make everyone happy; being involved in church events, volunteering for charities and always willing to help or host family holidays. She enjoyed helping other people through their problems, offering advice and quoting scripture. She loved black dirt, green plants and every kind of flower.

She was preceded in death by sister Sheila Krengel (1966); grandparents, Verona and Leo Krengel, Anna and James Weydert; father-in-law Chester Belkholm.

She is survived by her parents, Ronald and Illa Jean Krengel; husband, Kevin; children, Erica (Kenny Blake), Michael (Chelsie), Ross, BreAnna; granddaughter, Coraline Blake; siblings, Steven (Kari) Krengel, Rhonda (Paul) Barnard, David (Robbie) Krengel, Cheryl (Harold) Krengel; mother-in-law, Violet Belkholm; sisters-in-law, Connie (Doug) Smith and Carol (Steve) Thompson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the Living Word Ministries. Music was provided by Chris and Marianne Santele, Audra Charlebois, and Angel (Brelie) Swartz. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Brunswick. Arrangements were by the Akkerman Ingebrand Funeral Home of Mora.  Condolences may be posted at www.aifuneralhome.com.
