To the editor,

Commands are respected through respect commanded. Notice it’s not true when you replace “command” with “demand.” The president is simply not respectable. This is why he suffers from so many leaks, was the first president to have to veto a resolution blocking a national emergency and is the first president since Reagan to have to veto any bill while his own party controlled the Senate.

I support some of the administrations policies, and I have even come to support some that I originally opposed. But as far as I can tell, the president is a deplorable human being who has not only failed to drain the swamp, but allowed and caused it to take over more of our daily lives than ever before. He does not command my respect, and I will not comply with demands for it. I am thankful I live in a country where I can do that.
