Unidentified man with self inflicted wounds airlifted

On Friday, Sept. 26, Kanabec County sheriff deputies, the Minnesota State Patrol, Ogilvie first responders and the Kanabec Hospital ambulance responded to a vehicle in the ditch at Hwy. 47 and 421st Ave. N.W.

Upon arrival it was discovered that the male occupant of the vehicle had suffered self-inflicted wounds. The wounds were not caused by a firearm but rather some form of blade.

The man was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital.

The man's identity has not been released, but he is not from the Kanabec County area. His condition as of Monday morning was unknown.

Kanabec County Sheriff Steve Schulz said in a statement Monday that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
