The Kanabec County Times is a 3,000 circulation weekly newspaper published by Kanabec Publications. The Times is the official legal paper serving all of Kanabec County.
The paper is printed every Wednesday (Thursday publication date) at the Northstar Media printing facility in Cambridge.
The Times is a member of the Minnesota Newspaper Association and the National Newspaper Association. The Times was established in 1884 and is currently one of the oldest continually operated businesses in Mora.
Gene Johnson of White Bear Lake purchased the Times in 1980 from Ed Johnson and George Christi who operated the paper throughout the 1970s. Gene Johnson purchased the Mora Advertiser from Bob and Lois Beck and created Kanabec Publications, Inc. The corporation is part of a newspaper group that includes the Pine City Pioneer, Isanti-Chisago County Star, Braham Journal, Burnett County Sentinel, Amery Free Press, Osceola Sun, Country Messenger and Press Publications newspapers.
