The race date is changed to the third Sunday.

The ski course is planned to come into downtown Mora.

The decision to have the longest race set at a distance of 58km is just a swap of digits from Vasaloppet Sweden’s 85km race.

Two races are now offered; 58km and 29km with a sliding registration fee starting at $10 for the 58km and $5 for the 29km.

The Vasaloppet name is trademarked and Mora Vasaloppet becomes incorporated.

The Mora Vasaloppet is now advertised as the longest race in the US.

700 skiers are registered. They receive a 50% refund when the race is canceled due to no snow.
