Brian Nelson

Ogilvie Football

Favorite thing about sports: Working together with my teammates.

What sports or activities are you involved in?:  I have been playing football for seven years; I play halfback and linebacker. I play baseball, volunteer at church and work at M&H Appliance.

Person who has influenced you: My step-brother Nick. He was always a motivator in sports and with homework, even as he battled cancer for five years.

How do you prepare for a game?: I clear my mind and take time to relax and then get focused so I can concentrate on football only while I am out on the field.

Highlight of athletic career: The Buffalo Lake/Hector game last year, we won, in the rain. It was our first playoff win.

What advice do you have for someone wanting to come out and play football?: Football is the most fun you will ever have in a sport, but the hardest you will ever work at a sport.

Future goals: Get a job, have a family, be a good person, kind of everyone’s goal and fish a lot.

From the Coach: “Brian Nelson is a senior captain and a leader of the team. He was leading rusher, tackler and had some receptions. He has great leadership qualities, never misses a practice and does things right to be a captain.” -Head Coach Dave Halvorson
