Athlete of the Week

Favorite thing about sports: I like being with my team, I have a lot of friends on the team.

What other sports or activities are you involved in?: Volleyball, basketball, Minnesota Honor Society, choir and I play flute in band.

Person who has influenced you: My dad for sure, he works with me a lot, he has coached me for a long time. We have a tee and net in the garage or we practice in the back yard, he pushes me a lot.

How do you prepare for a game?: I listen to music on the bus ride to games it helps to pump me up and we do warm ups before the game.

Highlight of athletic career: Getting all-conference last year in softball in the Granite Ridge Conference, it means I am one of the top players in the conference.

Future goals: After graduation I would like to attend a four year college and go into the medical field and I would like to continue to play sports.

From the Coach: She has a .500 batting average, has had 12 RBI in 13 games, hit eight doubles and one home run. The team has a 9 - 4 record this season. “Anna is what coaches look for in a student athlete. She is an intelligent kid with great work ethic in the classroom and on the field. She has all the tools to play any position. She’s a difference maker offensively and defensively and has a very bright future.” — Charles Whitbred
