UW-Stout libero Steph Cannon wrapped up her collegiate career by claiming four awards when the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) announced the all-conference volleyball squad.
Cannon, a senior from Mora, who was named the Defensive Player of the Year, was selected to the All-WIAC first team and picked to the all-defensive team. This was the third time Cannon was chosen to the all-defensive team and the second time as a first team All-WIAC pick. Cannon is the first Blue Devil volleyball player to earn WIAC Player of the Year, either offense or defense, and is the first Stout player to be selected to the all-defensive team three times. Cannon last season set the school career record in digs with 1,564 digs through three seasons and finished her career with 2,232 digs, a mark that is 10th on the WIAC all-time list.
Cannon was a two-time WIAC Kwik Trip Athlete of the Week and was selected to all-tournament teams at Washington University, UW-Stevens Point, Bethel University and UW-Oshkosh. Throughout the season, Cannon recorded double-digit digs in 29-of-30 matches, 23 times recorded 20 or more digs and four times had 30 or more digs, twice recording 39 digs in a single match. Cannon was also among conference leaders in service aces, ranking 10th with 113 aces for a per-set average of 0.31.
