Halvorson

Head Coach Dave Halvorson addresses the team during the Ogilvie 2019 homecoming football game Sept. 20.

Congratulations to Ogilvie football Head Coach Dave Halvorson for being named the Gatorade coach of the week for the state of Minnesota.

Dave Halvorson from Ogilvie is the week three Gatorade Coach of the Week. The Lions are currently 3-0 in 9-man football. Coach Halvorson took over the program in 2007 when they were a 1A program. They moved to 9-man in 2015. He believes in his team not only having a positive image on the field, but a positive image in the community.

The Vikings and Gatorade are teaming up to honor a Gatorade Coach of the Week after each week of games during the high school football season. Coaches are chosen based on their contribution on the football field, but more importantly on the impact they make within their community and for their student athletes. In addition to being recognized for the achievement, the school’s football program receives Gatorade product for the season and a $1,000 donation on behalf of the Minnesota Vikings.
