Mora won a shootout in Esko Friday, Sept. 20 to stay undefeated by a score of 44-36.
Mora’s rushing attack continued its dominance as they racked up 405 yards on the ground. Nick Nelson had a huge game rushing for five touchdowns. Nelson and Kobe Swanson each eclipsed the 100-yard mark. Both team scored six touchdowns, but Mora converted four two-point conversions while Esko did not make one conversion on the evening.
Head Coach Troy Erickson said, “We’re fortunate we use a platoon system. Our depth of athletes is able to eventually wear down teams in the second half. Esko wasn’t as dynamic in the second half. I was proud of our defense in the second half. Our defensive line really stepped up. They never hung their heads and our two-point conversion defense was great. Even after being down two scores the kids never gave up and kept believing. It was a good win against a good team.”
