After suffering their first loss of the season last Friday night, Oct. 11, at the hands of Moose Lake/Willow River, the Mustangs looked for a bounce back game and they got it. Mora traveled to Pine City and came away with a 28-6 victory. Nick Nelson had a big game scoring all four touchdowns for the Mustangs. The victory keeps Mora tied with Esko at the top of the Northeast Blue District standings (3-1) and keeps them towards the top of the section standings with one game left to play.

Head Coach Troy Erickson’s comments: “I was really proud of our team and how they competed with really terrible field conditions. The boys were mentally tough and they didn’t allow the conditions to affect them mentally. With a few key injuries we had some young players step up and perform well. It was a good team win heading into our regular season finale on a short week against Aitkin.”

Up Next: The Mustangs will close out the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 7:00 p.m. against Aitkin. The Gobblers enter the contest 4-3 and are coming off a loss to Esko. Mora will then be hosting a first round Section 5 playoff game on Tuesday, Oct. 22, at 7:00 p.m. against an unknown opponent.
