After a greatly improved regular season, the Mora Mustangs softball team made a deep run in section playoffs. They held their own in a very competitive section and conference, and returning players look to build on their momentum for next spring.

Mora ended the regular season with a 12-7 record, third place in Section 7AA Subsection 1 and fourth in the Granite Ridge Conference. In Section 7AA playoffs they defeated Aitkin 11-1 and Virginia 5-1, before being eliminated with a 7-2 loss to eventual Section champion Esko and a 14-9 loss to Moose Lake-Willow River.

Last spring the team finished at 8-11, fifth in the GRC and seventh in the subsection, and lost to International Falls and Proctor in section playoffs.

Gabrielle Anderson is the only Mustangs senior, and will be lost to graduation. The current varsity roster features six juniors, six sophomores, three ninth graders and two eighth graders.
