A local manufacturer of custom pontoons is facing criminal charges as customers claim he repeatedly failed to deliver the products ordered and/or failed to refund their money.
According to criminal complaints filed by the Kanabec County Attorney’s Office, Wade Daniel Tramm, 49, of Isle, is the owner of Tramm’s Welding and Manufacturing, Inc., and has also done business under the names “Tramm Solutions,” and “Pontoon Solutions.”
Tramm was charged in four separate criminal cases in which he was contacted by customers who paid thousands of dollars down for boat builds; allegedly, Tramm did not deliver the final product by the dates agreed upon.
The complaints describe repeated attempts by customers to contact Tramm, who often failed to return their calls. Customers then contacted the Kanabec County Sheriff’s Office when they could no longer reach Tramm and claimed he would not return their money.
Civil court records involving Tramm reveal a history of financial troubles and lawsuits including collection attempts and further claims by customers that Tramm did not deliver pontoons they ordered, was difficult to contact in order to request their money back.
Two of the four criminal cases against Tramm were dismissed once Tramm refunded the money or produced the pontoon.
