Gerrett Osterdyk, died on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, at the Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. He was 96 years old.

He was born in Steenwijkerwold, Netherlands to Pieter and Dora Oosterdijk. 

He enlisted in the Army Jan. 13, 1945, and was shipped to the Marshall Islands, then sent to Korea.  He was a proud member of the American Legion in Ogilvie.

He was a successful dairy farmer in Kanabec County and won many awards with his registered Holstein cattle. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marion.

He is survived by his son, Richard Osterdyk; and daughters, Becky (David) Schafhauser and Barbara (Mitchell) Buckley; grandchildren, MacKenzie and Brandon Osterdyk and Jerad and Brittany Buckley.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at Ogilvie Methodist Church in Ogilvie, Minnesota. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. Pastor Debra Shaffran will be officiating, and Military Honors will be performed by the Ogilvie American Legion. Burial at Graceland Cemetery in Ogilvie will take place at a later date.
