L. Anderson

Lorrie Jane Anderson, of Thomasville, North Carolina died on Monday, March 15, 2021, peacefully at home. She was 64 years old.

She was born on July 30, 1956, to parents, Gerald and Evelyn Anderson of Mora. She attended Mora High School, where she played basketball and graduated in 1974. After high school she attended Anoka Ramsey College where she played basketball for the school’s team and was introduced to the art of “glass blowing.”

This sparked her interest towards a career path in art and a move to Illinois State University where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. That passion ignited a career of working, running and maintaining a successful art studio in New York City. The “small town” girl achieving the “big city” dream was just the beginning of many journeys to come.

Satisfied with her time spent in the Big Apple, she moved to the beautiful town of Thomasville, North Carolina. Here she displayed her priceless art and pottery pieces at various shows. She also enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend, Scott, best friend Martha, her pottery friends and many dogs.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to her. Some of which are fond memories of summer BBQ’s with all the cousins, homemade ice-cream and the beauty she found in her horses and pets. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met and her talent was inspiring.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Evelyn Anderson and sister, Nancy Anderson.

She is survived by her three siblings, Gerry (Justine) Anderson of Mora, Debbie Anderson of Walker and Dan (Rachel) Anderson of Mora; nephews, Tim and Roddy Mollet, Kyle Binderup, Nathan Anderson and Breckin Mortenson; nieces, Shannah and Stephanie; and many beloved cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021, at First Presbyterian Church in Hinckley. Pastor Dan Brendsel will be officiating.  Memorials may be directed to the Seagrove Pottery Association. Online condolences may be given to the family at www.jcgreenandsons.com or www.aifuneralhome.com.
