Roger C. Conger, formerly of Ogilvie, died peacefully Wednesday, May 26, 2021. He was 91 years old.

He was born Feb. 18, 1930 in Ogilvie to Howard and Francis Conger. He grew up in a log cabin on a hardscrabble farm near Ogilvie and was united in marriage to Lorraine Berman in 1952 while a student at the University of Minnesota.

With hard work and determination, he received his civil engineering degree in 1953. His entire career was spent designing and constructing concrete grain elevators throughout the mid west and elsewhere. A skilled  and respected engineer, he ran Conger Construction Company and later worked for SMA Elevator Construction Company.

He lived life with gusto, taking great pleasure being with family and friends, telling funny stories and spending time at his vacation homes in Pine City and Manzanillo, Mexico. Creative and resourceful, he enjoyed work, always busy with a project or scheming his next one.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Conger; and siblings, Gene, Alan, David and Jerome Conger.

He is survived by his children, Judy Loehle-Conger, Janet (Phill) Duff, Laurel (John) Whiteside, Steven Conger (Lixian Han); grandchildren, Evan and Ross Loehle-Conger, Caitlin and Hilary Duff, Andrew and Alice Whiteside; and sister, Rachel.

A celebration of life was held Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at University Lutheran Church, 324 Harvard St. SE, Minneapolis. The ceremony was live streamed at www.graceattheu.org.
