To the editor,

This letter is an informational follow up on the Leaving Kabul column in the Oct. 7 issue. Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service is a way to help these Afghan allies www.lirs.org/help-our-afghan-allies/. What can you do to help them ADAPT:

ACT - Welcome newly arrived Afghans

DONATE - Support Afghan Allies Neighbors in Need Fund

ADVOCATE - Support the Welcomed Act  (Welcoming Evacuees Coming from Overseas to Mitigate Effects of Displacement Act of 2021)

PRAY - Lift up a prayer for Afghan refugees

TEACH - Learn about the SIV (Special Immigrant Visas for Afghans who were employed by/on behalf of the U.S.) program and Afghanistan

I am not saying this organization is the best option, I am just sharing an option. According to charitynavigator.org 89% of their funds went to program expenses.
