To the editor,
If one didn’t know otherwise, you could think that the intimidators at the Sept. 23 school board meeting had been in orbit around Mars or some other far off planet for the past 20 months.
This clear intimidation of the Mora School Board brings out the ungrateful among us that subscribe to the notion and believe that rules and regulations are for others. These ungratefuls don’t seem to understand the duty of the school board to maintain an education system that teaches our children/grandchildren in the best ways possible and also safeguards all who participate in our halls of learning.
Mr. Frank Westling seems to be in doubt of the science of combating epidemics and clearly doesn’t understand the worldwide pandemic which has cost the lives of over 700,000 Americans since early 2020. To demean and criticize the Food and Drug Administration, the Center for Disease Control, Department of Public Health, whether federal, state, county or municipal, sounds as if somebody needs to go back to school. These people who disrupt school board meetings should do a little self examination.
The mention of rights, to wear or not wear a mask, is pretty insignificant, and by forcing (intimidating) children or grandchildren not to wear masks in school, you still have the right to speak to your child or grandchild for five minutes before they are sedated and put on a ventilator.
To not require the wearing of masks at in person school classes is the equivalent of child endangerment, and the consequences will be so tragic for families as they make final arrangements.
