It really wasn’t meant to be.  Not one board member planned for it to happen.  It just turned out that way.  2014 became the last year the race was held on the regular point-to-point trail, starting at Warman and ending in Mora.  Unlike the bad snow conditions during the previous two years, the year started out with sufficient snow and there were no worries of not having ample snow cover as race day approached.  Race morning arrived as a beautiful sunny, but cold day – great conditions for skiing.  The last and final skiers to take off from the start were from the combined 58km and 35km races.

In the fall of 2013 the high school cross country team requested to use The Garage to hold their pasta feeds.

The Moraloppet Ski for the Cure organizes a booth at FirstLight Health Systems Health Fair held in the fall of 2013.

Two pieces of grooming equipment used on the trail are sold – the Bombi and Tidd Tech.

A committee consisting of community members is set up to brainstorm ideas to create a WOW factor for the 2015 race.

The Nordic Center is now open every day, not just on weekends.

The Eldris Sprints are discontinued.

The Mora Area Chamber of Commerce arranges coupons from local businesses to be emailed to registered skiers.

The 58km Relay race becomes the 13km Teamloppet.

It is the pilot year for Skijoring or skiing with dogs.  Twelve to 15 teams of skiers and dogs present a race demonstration starting on the finish line, going north to Mora Lake and returning to finish downtown.
