The Mora Cross Country team competed at the Granite Ridge Conference Championship Tuesday, Oct. 19, at Wapicada Golf Course in Sauk Rapids. It was the last race for the junior high and JV squads, with many setting new personal-records to end the season.

Nate Johnson, a junior, finished second for the boys high school varsity race with a personal-record time of 16:56. He finished just under 14 seconds behind first place finisher senior Grant Mayers of Little Falls (16:43). Sophomore Mora runner Alex Williams finished 18th place overall with a personal-record time of 18:07.

For the girls high school varsity race, senior Eva Holmgren took 12th place with a time of 21:09. Holmgren bested her 2021 season record by 21 seconds. The varsity boys team finished sixth out of eight complete teams, and the varsity girls were seventh out of eight teams. Alex Williams earned All-Conference Honorable Mention while Eva Holmgren and Nathan Johnson earned All-Conference.

All the varsity runners will compete in the Section 7AA meet in Cloquet Thursday, Oct. 28.
