Ogilvie Lions boys varsity basketball squad-2022-23 season.Â
Ogilvie Boys Basketball Head Coach Sam Weaver shares about the winter 2022-23 season:
Describe the makeup of your varsity team. Who are your team leaders? Â
As of right now the Ogilvie boys team will be made up of two seniors, seven juniors, one sophomore and three freshmen. We will be looking to our groups of seniors and juniors to be our leaders this year. It is a great group of young men that love to compete so it will be fun to watch them develop into their roles this season.Â
What will be key to your team’s success?
A huge aspect we will be focusing on this year will be taking care of the ball in regards to rebounding and turnovers. Boxing out will be a high priority for us and then being efficient with the ball while trying to keep the assist to turnover ratio leaning in our direction.Â
What are the goals and priorities for the team this season?
Our goal is to be above .500. We will be facing a lot of tough competition and showing poise when adversity knocks at the door will be a priority.
Who are the opponents to watch for this year?
I look at all of our conference opponents with great respect. There is a lot of knowledge and talent flowing through those programs so I am always looking forward to those match ups.Â
Is there anything else you want to add regarding the 2022-2023 season?
