The Mora hockey team won two at home and lost one on the road to bring their season record to 3-2 early in the season. On Tuesday, Dec. 6, Mora hosted Spooner, Wisconsin. Mora’s Blake Bowen and Trenton Fore gave Mora a 2-1 lead after the first period. The score remained that way until the third period when Cameron Price, Austin Neyssen, Carson Donaghue, and Jordan Szucs all scored to lift Mora to a 6-1 victory over the Rails. Chase Radermacher and Rowan Tramm each had two assists.
Thursday, Dec. 8, the team traveled to Duluth Marshall and had a rough go of it. Cameron Price scored Mora’s only goal of the contest in the first period but gave up eight goals to a skilled Hilltoppers team for a 8-1 loss.
It didn’t take long for the Mustangs to get back in the win column, as they beat Ashland, Wisconsin 5-4 on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Mora Civic Center. Cameron Price, Chase Radermacher and Rowan Tramm gave Mora a 3-0 lead into the second period. However, the Ashland Oredockers scored the next four goals to give them a 4-3 lead as the teams went into the second break. The third period was all Mora as Trenton Fore tied the game 3:25 minutes into the third period. The score remained tied until Jordan Szucs scored the winning goal on a power-play with just 30-seconds left in regulation. Szucs finished the night with three points, as he provided two assists in the exciting win.
Up Next: Mora headed to Siren, Wisconsin on Tuesday, Dec. 13, and hosts St. Paul Highland Park on Friday, Dec. 16, for a 6:00 p.m. puck drop at the Mora Civic Center.
