The Mora boys basketball team (13-1) continues to take care of business within the Granite Ridge Conference, and even surrounding AAA teams. On Tuesday, Jan. 17, Mora beat 8AAA Little Falls 68-48 in an anticipated tough-matchup.Â
Senior Max Sampson and his teammates got right to business with Sampson scoring a game high 19 points. Senior Jonah Smart poured in 16 points of his own, with Gage Braiedy scoring 13 and Dallas Fix 10.Â
The next day, Mora traveled to Chisago Lakes (5-9), a 5AAA team, in a makeup game, and won 77-67. Chisago Lakes’s Patrick Rowe was the game high scorer with 21 points, but Max Sampson again led the Mustangs with 18 points, followed by Gage Braiedy with 17 points, Jonah Smart 15 points, Dallas Fix with 14 points and James Oslin with 12 points.Â
On Friday, Jan. 20, Foley (5-7) came to town for a conference matchup. Mora never let up on the gas pedal and won 69-24. Gage Braiedy and Dallas Fix led all scorers with 18 points each. Max Sampson scored 15 points, giving Mora three double-digit scorers, and the Mustang’s fourth conference victory.Â
Albany (11-1) leads the Granite Ridge Conference and 6AA sections. Mora faces off with them next on Friday, Feb. 3, in Albany.Â
